HOW THIS WORKS

THE FIT & MYTH standard.

Three principles. Non-negotiable. Every article, review and guide on this site is built on them — not as an aspiration, but as a guarantee. If a claim cannot be sourced, it does not get published.

01

NOTHING UNTESTED

The gear I recommend is gear I bought with my own money and trained in — no press samples, no sponsored placements, no exceptions. The commission comes after the honest opinion. Never before.

Every product recommendation on this site carries one honest downside. A recommendation without a catch is an advert, and I would rather you trusted the next one.

02

SCIENCE OVER SENTIMENT

Every myth on this site is checked against peer-reviewed research. Feelings do not change physiology. Marketing copy does not change biochemistry.

The evidence is referenced, the conclusions drawn carefully — and the answer is not always the one the fitness industry wants you to hear. Where the research is genuinely unsettled, I say so rather than picking the tidier answer.

03

BUILT FOR REAL LIFE

NHS shifts. Early starts. Limited equipment. Tight budgets. Everything here is designed for people who train seriously within the constraints of an actual existence — not an idealised one constructed for social media.

If a plan only works on a calm week, it was never a plan. It was a trend borrowing your attention.

WHAT I DO and don't do.

I don't sell coaching. I'm not a certified personal trainer and I won't pretend otherwise. What I have is years of doing the work, making the mistakes and reading the research, filtered through a demanding job and a full life.

I have never accepted a sponsorship. Not once. The site is funded by Amazon UK affiliate links — the same price for you, a small commission for me, and only ever on things I bought and used first.

Flights and accommodation on race guides are always linked separately, never bundled as a package. That is required by the UK Package Travel Regulations 2018, and it also keeps you in control of your own trip.

This is educational content, not medical advice. If you have a condition, an injury or a reason to be careful, speak to someone qualified before taking anything here as instruction.
