HOW THIS SITE MAKES MONEY

AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE.

Short version, before anything else: some of the links on this site are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy something through one of them, I earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is exactly the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly.

Required Statement

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

WHAT THAT ACTUALLY MEANS

Fit & Myth is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk.

When you click an affiliate link on this site and go on to buy something, Amazon pays me a percentage of that sale. It is usually a few per cent, and on a pair of running shoes it amounts to somewhere around the price of a coffee.

That is the entire business model. There is nothing else. No sponsorships, no paid placements, no brand deals, no coaching programmes, no subscription, no advertising.

THE ORDER THINGS HAPPEN IN

This is the part that actually matters, and it is the reason this page exists rather than a line of small print.

  • I decide what I think about a piece of kit first. Then I add the link.
  • The commission never comes before the honest opinion. If something is not worth buying, the page says so — and a page that tells you to save your money earns me nothing at all.
  • I do not accept press samples, gifted products or review units. If a brand sends me something unsolicited, it does not get written about.
  • No brand has ever paid me to write anything, and none of them see a page before it goes live.
  • Where a cheaper option is genuinely as good, I say so, even when the expensive one would pay more.

WHERE THE LINKS APPEAR

Affiliate links show up in gear sections on the Running, Boxing, Lifting and Supplements pages, and in individual gear reviews. They are always on a clearly labelled button — something along the lines of “View on Amazon UK” — never hidden inside ordinary body text.

Not everything I recommend is linked, and not everything linked is something I own. Where I am comparing options I have not personally trained with, the page says that plainly rather than implying otherwise.

PRICES AND AVAILABILITY

Prices mentioned on this site are approximate and were accurate at the time of writing. Amazon changes prices constantly, so treat anything here as a guide rather than a quote — the price shown on Amazon at checkout is the real one. Availability changes too, and links occasionally go to products that have been discontinued or replaced.

NOT ADVICE

Everything on this site is written from personal experience and published research. It is educational, not medical, dietary or professional advice. If you are managing a health condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, take prescription medication, or have any history of disordered eating, please speak to your GP or a registered professional before changing how you train, eat or supplement.

QUESTIONS

If anything here is unclear, or you want to know whether a specific recommendation is linked, just ask — fitandmyth@gmail.com. I would rather answer it than have you wonder.
